Tesco GI Diet

Read my personal review of this dieting book which will really change your life.

I have lost weight with this great book Paul McKenna's book I can make you slim.
New revised edition!

I haven't been hungry since I started this diet and there is no weighing, measuring or special foods to eat.

Very easy to follow - you can eat ALL your favourite foods!

I personally recommend you buy this book.
It has changed the way I look at food and dieting! You will find it easier than ever before to diet - and it won't seem like dieting as you're allowed all the foods you like!

10 things which will stop you dieting and how to prevent yourself falling into the trap of breaking your diet.

Even if you do accidentally go over your calorie allowance (or points allowance etc) then start your diet again straight away. Don't let one little accident build into pounds put on!

Some of these hints might only be short term solutions to your overall eating habits.

Problem

Solution

1
Friday night out at the pub. Stay on soft drinks, orange juice, or diet fizzy drinks or even water. If you must drink have a half of lager or a short dliuted well with diet fizzy drinks
If you really want to avoid drinking then offer to drive! Everyone will love you for it!
Don't snack and don't give in to the late night takeaway.
Don't have alcohol every drink - example:swap between diet coke and diet coke with vodka.
If you allow yourself one boozy evening a month - make it the last day possible in the month, so that you can't repeat it! Having a little drink once a month might be a reward for you, but don't get too drunk!
2
Birthday at work When everyone has to have a cake because its someone's birthday it can be a nightmare avoiding offending people cos you wont' have a cake with them. You can either pick something with hopefully not many calories (nothing with cream) or have one and only have a bite or two.
You could always claim to have toothache to avoid eating chocolates.
3
Being bored. If you're sat around doing nothing then chances are you'll want something to eat sooner or later. Keep yourself busy. join a gym or get books from the library.
Do the housework! My old neigh bour used to tell me she always did the housework when she was feeling down and it always seemed to help her - and on another plus, her house was always spotless!
Another good idea is having a shower. You can't eat in the shower.
4
Sunday Dinners Sitting down to a roast is lovely but can be fattening. Ask for plenty of veggies and don't have any gravy. Plain boiled potatos are better than roasties.
Take dessert with you - fresh fruit salad that you've made yourself.
5
Eating out Sometimes this can be easier than you think. Try and pick somewheer where there will be steak and salad. Avoid heavy dressings or a caesar salad and you should be fine. Always check for a fruit dessert - fruit salad is relatively healthy if its not served with masses of cream.
If you're somewhere where there is little choice stick to something plain, no cream or cheese.
6
Nothing in for tea Takeaway looming.
Avoid cheesey pizzas. Salad pita with tikka chicken is probably a good option.
Jacket potatoes are also ok with beans.
Look in the freezer for a safe meal - and make sure you've always got one safe meal in!
7
Hungry & Tired If you're hungry you're more likely to cheat. Are you allowed vegetables on your diet?
Have a bowl of salad, or some sliced tomatoes, or chunks of veggies. Keep grapes in as they're quite low calorie and very good for snacking.
If you're tired you're more likely to reach for the phone and a takeaway menu than cook ssome healthy food. Find recipes which are quick and nice and healthy.
8
Comfort eating Feeling sad? Need snacking?
Raid the fruit dish! At least fruit is good for you and has loads less calories than choccie.
9
Not lost weight this week If you've been good and not lost weight this week it can be really disheartening to not lose even a lb. You have to look on the bright side that you might suddenly lose 3lb next week! Or look over your diet record to see what you may have done differently.
Also some weeks you'll lose an inch or two off your body but not in weight because you're building up muscles.
10
Forbidden foods Don't make any food forbidden else you'll only want it more.
Eat smaller portions or find lower calorie versions.
