If you're concerned about your child's health then it makes sense
to cut back on the fizzy drinks and junk food and encourage them
to eat more healthily.
However if you have concerns that your child needs to lose weight
then you should contact your GP. Children need certain amounts of
fat and nutrients in order to grow properly. If you cut back on
certain foods you may damage their health.
Encourage them to eat five portions of fruit and veg a day. Its
a good habit to get into and they might fill up on fruit rather
than snacky stuff.
Kids weight loss can be done by increasing the amount of exercise
they do.
Try and always walk to and from school. Its good for you too, and
safer for all the kids at school if the roads aren't full of people
trying to park to pick up their kids.
Play sports with them, encourage them to play out. Go for long
walks at the weekend or take them swimming. This will also get you
fit.
Remember you influence your children's attitudes towards food so
you'll have to eat well yourself.
Look at what food you have in your fridge, freezer and cupboards.
Don't fry things. |
