How to not break your diet when you eat out
So you've got to eat out? If possible pick where you're going to eat!
If you're doign a ow carb diet going to a noodle bar won't work! If
you can then get hold of the menu from the restuarant - they'll fax
it to you if you ask nicely!
Have a good look through the menu and work out what the low calories
healthy options are. Lots of places are accomadating people on diets
these days.
Starters
What to pick for starters - there are schools of thought that you
should have a starter and skip pudding if there are no light options
for pudding, or reverse if you can't see anything light on the starters.
Either way you really probably shouldn't have both.
Pick something low in calories - that means melon, light soup (none
of that cream stuff because you know it'll have loads of cream in it),
avoid fried nibbles.
Main course
Pick something without cheese, cream, fried, chips, or anything jumbo
portioned. Pick boiled potatoes or jacket - put don't put extra butter
on
Pudding
Avoid if possible - you'll have eaten loads before you get to this.
Drinks
Have low calories drinks, water or juice, Avoid alcohol as it'll weaken
your resolve. Table snacks
Watch out for the bread roll, breadsticks, oilves or nibbles that
might be otherwise there to tempt you.
Other hints on avoiding calories when you're eating out
Avoid after dinner coffee it might lead you into a cocktail, liqueur
or other temptations!
Learn to sit at the table without eating! Just because there are
nibbles out don't give in.
Wear something TIGHT fitting - round the waist. Anything with an
elastic waste is just kidding you that you're not stuffed!
