This is such a life changing book - its been a few weeks since I first
bought this book - and I've continually lost weight. I've had a little
top up by listening to the cd again recently and have flicked through
the book.
The book centres on such basic ideas you'll seriously wonder why no one
told you about this earlier.
UPDATE: - its probably been 12 months since I bought this book and I've
found life easier than I'd have imagined to stay at the weight I want
to be. Its easy - I can really eat what I want, when I want. All I have
to do is remember the basic principals - which the book explains really
simply so you'll remember them.
I believe that this book will help you diet and stay at the target weight
you want to be.
I still read calories on food packets but I don't have to - I do it purely
out of interest now. I don't weigh food. I eat takeaway. I'm happy with
food and can deal with the food situations I find myself in.
Really, if you've tried other diets and they've not worked for you then
this one will be the one. This isn't a diet - its so much more than that.
Its the way to eat healthily for the rest of your life.
If you'd like to be told that you can eat what you want, when you want
and get thin then this book will do just that.

measuring or special foods to eat.
Very easy to follow - you can eat ALL your favourite foods!

unusual diet book
This is quite a skinny book. It isn't like other diet books. It
doesn't have any recipes in. It doesn't give measurements on food.
Its also got a CD with it.
In fact it is the most unusual diet book I've ever read.
Its also a really easy concept to get your head round.
There are 4 basic guidelines to follow and those 4 principals should
see you through weight loss and you'll stay thin thereafter.
You can eat what you want. Yes you can sit down to a big plate
of steak and chips if thats what you want to eat.
Yes, this book doesn't tell you to count calories, points, red
days, carbs, gi index of foods.
Does it sound interesting? It is. This is such a basic concept
about eating that its amazing more people aren't telling us about
it.
A simple yet refreshing approach to eating which we're giving a
good chance to work - it encourages you to take up simple exercise
in a way that you can incorporate into your daily life.
On a TV interview about this book he reckoned that 70% of people
achieve success on this method as compared to less than 10% on most
other methods.

The CD - OK so I grinned like a cheshire cat listening to this cd
for the first few minutes but it was certainly interesting. I've listed
to it twice so far and might have a relaxing lie down with it tomorrow.
With an emphasis on making you like yourself and your body and believing
that you'll be thin and have the body you want this CD aims to reinforce
positive thoughts about yourself and the belief you can succeed. It
also aims to motivate you into doing more exercise and recommneds
walking as the best way of achieving this - by using a pedometer you
can count your steps and increase them - and this cd encourages you
to do this. |
Overall our opinion on Paul Mckenna's I can make you thin
If you've struggled to lose weight and need a new approach then
this book and cd is excellent value. It is certainly worth a read
and a listen.

Personal Recommendation of I can make you thin
I've followed this book for just over two weeks now and was impressed
that I lost 7lbs in the first two weeks. I've not felt hungry and
I've eaten foods I wouldn't have dreamed of eating before I read
this book.
I've eaten buttered toast for the first time in years - wow! It
tastes just great. I think I'm really appreciating the taste of
foods much more than I have done for a long time too.
I think not feeling hungry has been one of the best bits of this
method. Its nice to know that I can eat when I'm hungry and not
have to count, weigh or measure food.
It has been easy to stick to as well. I've been feeling more active
too!
Update: June 15th - I've had the book
about 6 weeks and have lost about 12lb. This is an average of 2lb
a week. This is pretty amazing - as it is not a diet - it really
is a life change.
I will continue to use the principals in this book as they're just
so sensible and easy to follow. This book has really changed my
life!
I know how melodramatic that sounds but it really has. The changes
you can easily make to your eating habits will stick with you. And
if they start to slip then you need to flick through the book again
and play the cd. If you're looking for the best way of getting thin
and staying thin then I think this book will be a big help to you.
