| The Slimming world Diet Quick history of Slimming World - was founded in 1969. The diet is based on food optimising - and you have red days and green days. You're supposed to alternate days. On Green days you can eat carbs - as much as you want of rice,
pasta, potatoes, egg noodles, beans and pulses, all fruits and vegetables. There are free foods, healthy extras and syns. Healthy extras areL Calcium containing foods like yoghurt, milk, cheese (low fat versions) and fibre foods like wholemeal bread of bran or rye crispbreads. You can calculate the syn value of a treat food by dividing the calories by 20. This is a diet on which you can fill up on plenty of food - like fruit and veg, pickles etc. Cooking with oil is allowed if you count it as syns (or use a light spray) Official site http://www.slimming-world.co.uk used to have syn list online. I don't think they do anymore though unless you're a member.
When I tried this diet I did enjoy eating masses of paste - and would
concoct some interesting sauces to go on, including teaspoon of pesto
and thinly slicec turkeys strips. You can mix beans and veggies with the
pasta too - making it fairly balanced. |
