Tesco GI Diet

Read my personal review of this dieting book which will really change your life.

I have lost weight with this great book Paul McKenna's book I can make you slim.
New revised edition!

I haven't been hungry since I started this diet and there is no weighing, measuring or special foods to eat.

Very easy to follow - you can eat ALL your favourite foods!

I personally recommend you buy this book.
It has changed the way I look at food and dieting! You will find it easier than ever before to diet - and it won't seem like dieting as you're allowed all the foods you like!

The Slimming world Diet

Quick history of Slimming World - was founded in 1969.
The Slimming World weight loss program is run by a network of 2,500 Slimming World trained weight loss consultants who operate 5,500 weight loss classes a week

The diet is based on food optimising - and you have red days and green days. You're supposed to alternate days.

On Green days you can eat carbs - as much as you want of rice, pasta, potatoes, egg noodles, beans and pulses, all fruits and vegetables.
On Red Days you have protein - as much as you want of lean meat, fish, shellfish, skinless poultry, almost all vegetables (except starchy ones like potatoes, peas, beans sweet corn etc) and all fruits.

There are free foods, healthy extras and syns.

Healthy extras areL Calcium containing foods like yoghurt, milk, cheese (low fat versions) and fibre foods like wholemeal bread of bran or rye crispbreads.

You can calculate the syn value of a treat food by dividing the calories by 20.

This is a diet on which you can fill up on plenty of food - like fruit and veg, pickles etc. Cooking with oil is allowed if you count it as syns (or use a light spray)

Official site http://www.slimming-world.co.uk used to have syn list online. I don't think they do anymore though unless you're a member.

You can browse Slimming world recipes online though - they also have a 7 day sample menu.

When I tried this diet I did enjoy eating masses of paste - and would concoct some interesting sauces to go on, including teaspoon of pesto and thinly slicec turkeys strips. You can mix beans and veggies with the pasta too - making it fairly balanced.
Sadly eating as much as you want makes you feel very full and satisified but it doesn't stop you wanting to stuff yourself - and it is partly, I think, this desire to feel very full and eat loads which causes many people problems when they stop dieting.
